Tips & Tricks

This page is dedicated to help you decide most variables associated with a photo shoot as professional photographers do. From location selection to wardrobe decisions, we cover it all below.

In order to create a pleasant experience for you we have put together a guide to avoid:

  • Wasting time you paid for
  • Wasting money you worked for

Pics305 strives to arrive everywhere on time, create as many images as possible, safeguard and deliver to you fast.

Pics305 only provides photography services. Pics305 is not responsible for the following tasks:

  • Planning
  • Makeup
  • Third-party bookings
  • Taking videos or photographs with any equipment not carried by the photographer
  • Any other task not associated with taking a photograph.

Our photographers are trained to pay attention to detail in order to maximize the creation of beautiful imagery, so expect some coaching and some suggestions as the portrait/event progresses.

Photographer is not responsible for parking fees (if any) so you will have the option of either paying for parking on the spot or to pay online after the photo shoot has been completed.

Where do you plan on having your family portrait taken? At the Park? A Museum? A Riverside Restaurant? Outside? Indoors? At Your Home?

All of these questions are very important. You do not want to be on your way to your family portrait at the park only to see rain appear.

  • Have a backup location. We recommend a location close-by in order to take advantage of your time as much as possible. Time starts counting as soon as the photographer arrives.
  • Low traffic locations with plenty of free parking are ideal. You don’t want a large crowd in the background and parking can be costly and scarce in certain places. If you don’t mind expensive parking fees, valet parking is the way to go.
  • Some locations do not allow photography unless you have consent from them. Some locations also charge a fee for photography on the premises.
Popular Locations
  • We recommend  a wardrobe you like to see in the mirror. If you love how something fits you, bring it.
  • Keep the weather and temperature in mind.
  • We do not set a limit on wardrobe changes although we recommend you use your time wisely.
  • We are not always able to accommodate extra time past your scheduled limit. You can ask the photographer if they have any conflicting appointments, and more time may be added.
  • If your location is outdoors make sure you book with enough light out, usually at least 1.5 hours before sunset (for a 1 hour shoot).
  • Avoid rush hour traffic.
  • Avoid times of high crowd traffic
  • During the photo shoot/event you can ask the photographer if they have any conflicting appointments, and more time may be added.
  • All images will be ready for download within 48 hours.
  • When your images become available, you will also be able to purchase prints and have them shipped to your door.
  • Props are encouraged.
  • Small and easy to carry is recommended unless you bring a friend to help.
  • Most common props include:
    • Picnic sets
    • Hats
    • Balloons
    • Mirrors
    • Flowers/Petals
    • Pillows
    • Blankets
    • Musical Instruments
    • Sunglasses

Our photographers have experience working with children.

Children are the joy of the world but sometimes they are tired or uneasy in certain situations. A family member or a friend commonly helps with changing wardrobes or calling for the child’s attention towards the camera.

  • Make sure your booking coincides with a time a child is wide awake and fed.
  • Feel free to bring a toy that will keep them engaged and satisfied.
  • If a child needs to be changed, select a location where there are changing stations or where your vehicle is close enough to change the child in privacy.

Pics305 handles bookings by the hour and sometimes we are not able to accommodate an extra hour or 2 at the end of your shoot, so it is better to have time left over than to have the feeling you did not get all you could.

Parking options vary depending on the location you select for your photo shoot or event. Parking location & cost are your responsibility.

Pics305 nor the photographer are not responsible for parking fees (if any) so you will receive an invoice to pay online after the photo shoot has been completed.
